| It might happen that your
financial situation changes and it is possible for you to pay off your personal
loan earlier than you had at first anticipated. If such a situation arises then
you will need to contact your loan provider and explain to them that you wish
to make an early repayment.
There will usually be some kind of fee charged for an early repayment. Your
lender will give you an early settlement statement which will detail the amount
that you will need to pay in order to terminate your contact. Usually it will
not be necessary to pay back all the interest that you would have paid if the
loan had been paid back over the agreed term, but you will usually have to pay
over and above the actual earned interest on your loan. These additional charges
usually come in the form of an early repayment penalty. Other lenders might charge
you interest for a short additional period of time, say one month.
As we can never predict our financial future it is important to find out your
loan provider's position on early repayment so that you are fully aware of what
might happen in such circumstances.
